Our Story
Fort Financial Federal Credit Union has been serving members since 1946, when the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions approved the charter for Salisbury Axle Federal Credit Union. Just two years later, membership had already grown to 591 and it hasn’t slowed down since. By 1960, membership had nearly doubled, beginning decades of steady growth that continue today.
In 1977, the credit union became Dana Corporation Federal Credit Union, followed by the opening of a new Fort Wayne facility on Spring Street in 1978. In December 2002, the organization took on the name Fort Financial Federal Credit Union, officially adopted at the 56th annual meeting in February 2003.
As we continue to grow, so does our commitment to serving our members. A new corporate headquarters opened on January 3, 2023, on the northwest side of Fort Wayne at Lima and Wallen Roads. Additional branches followed, including a northeast Fort Wayne location at Maplecrest and Saint Joe Center Roads in November 2022, and our newest branch at Illinois Road and Jefferson Blvd. in April 2023 each designed to better meet the evolving needs of our members.
Today, Fort Financial proudly serves members through eight branches across Indiana and Mississippi.
