Updates to Shared Branching Beginning May 1

Starting May 1, 2025, Fort Financial members visiting a participating credit union in the CO-OP Shared Branch Network will need to load their state-issued ID into IDCheck before starting a transaction. This new fraud prevention measure ensures your identity is verified for Shared Branch transactions. This does not apply when you visit a Fort Financial branch – you can continue to conduct business as usual at our locations.

Fort Financial Sells Gastonia Branch

Fort Financial Credit Union has made the strategic decision to close its branch located in Gastonia, North Carolina. Members Credit Union, headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, sought to expand to the Gastonia market and has agreed to purchase the branch and extend employment offers to the entire branch staff.

Corinth Branch Bakes Goods, Raises Funds for Angel Tree Program

Our Corinth branch had a Christmas bake sale recently where they raised $1,385! They used those funds to sponsor 5 kids through the The Salvation Army Corinth Mississippi Angel Tree program.

Keeping You Safe at the ATM

Last week (Sept. 17-23), one of our ATM servicing partners experienced an issue that led to some ATM outages in the area, including all Fort Financial ATMs. While this partner was able to assure all impacted financial institutions that no member data was affected, we have added additional safeguards to our ATMs to protect against any potential problems from the outage.

Southwest Fort Wayne Branch Update

Coming soon to the Parkwest Plaza! We're excited to continue to serve you at our new branch starting Monday, April 24. The new branch, located at 3850 West Jefferson Blvd., is scheduled to open at 9 am. Join us the week of April 24 for refreshments and Fort Financial giveaways as we celebrate the grand opening of our newest branch!

Updating Corporate Address for Bill Pay Services

Fort Financial members; with the recent move of our corporate headquarters, we wanted to alert our members who utilize bill pay services (non-ACH transfers or payments) with other financial institutions to verify the address that physical checks are sent to. All payments should be sent to 8815 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818.

Fort Financial will hold its Annual Business Meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at our corporate office at 8815 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The event is free to all Fort Financial members. Fort Financial’s Nominating Committee is currently accepting applications to fill two available positions on our Board of Directors. There will not be dinner or entertainment at the business meeting.

Card Delays and Issues

February 2, 2023 update: Our card processor has been catching up with orders and all February debit card reissues were shipped out on January 31 and members will have their cards in hand before the end of the month. Lost/stolen replacement cards are still taking up to four weeks to get to members, but things have been improving.

We wanted to make you aware of service issues we are experiencing with our card processor. Due to a shortage in card chips, plastic and labor, the time it takes to get a new credit or debit card to members is now 4-6 weeks instead of the standard 7-10 business days. This delay affects new cards as well as reissues and lost/stolen replacement cards.

These issues and delays are affecting numerous financial institutions, even those who have instant issue card services, and is not limited to Fort Financial or credit unions in general.

Spring Street and Lima Road Branch Updates

We're moving! Our corporate headquarters on Spring Street in Fort Wayne will close on Friday, December 30, 2022 and our Lima Road branch inside Meijer will close on Monday, January 2, 2023. Our new corporate headquarters at 8815 Lima Road in Fort Wayne will open for business on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. Join us the week of Jan. 3 for refreshments and Fort Financial giveaways as celebrate the grand opening of our new headquarters!
